Have you noticed the interesting and apparent inconsistencies in American handling of the Palestinian Resistance? You may ask, "What is going on?" Before the so-called war on terrorism, we expressed our unswerving support for Israel against the Palestinians. But then things changed rather markedly quite surprisingly. Secretary of State Powell pursued more evenhandedness in his public statements and seemed to be incredibly sympathetic toward the Palestinians. This culminated in his avowing that they needed to have their own state. Such a statement seems to be too good to be true, in view of the usual American unconditional support for their Israeli friends. Cognoscenti view these statements as mere smoke screens to hide the real intentions.
Things have become a lot more violent in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Sharon declared his own war against Palestinian Resistance and used his army to prosecute it. America has given Israel the justification to smother resistance by declaring an open-ended "War on Terrorism." Now, Israel is doing its bit to destroy "terrorism" in the occupied land. This fits in with American declarations about the need to pursue terrorists wherever they are hiding. We gave Sharon permission in advance to travel this route. Perhaps, it would be more accurate to say, "We connived with him in advance." There was no great outcry from Israel and its Zionist supporters about the intention of reestablishing a Palestinian state. Why not? Did they all know what was going on while we, the American public, did not?
Sharon disavowed Arafat and refused to deal with him as the representative of the people. Now the United States has done the same thing. Are they working together to destroy the already weak Palestinian leadership? They destroyed Arafat, so it would seem worth doing again. They are targeting the secondary leader (Abbas) for destruction. How can you reconcile talking about statehood and then disavow the leadership within only three months? You can if you have a sinister plan in place to create a Palestinian state that has no leadership. This will mean that Israel and the United States (with the usual coalition partners for window dressing) will have to take over the new Palestinian government.
What a wonderful idea! Washington needs another defenseless country to invade and where could a better one be found than Palestine? Iraq will be put aside as too controversial. Europe and the Arab states will not support the United States in another invasion of Iraq. There is no moral justification for such an invasion except the tired, contentious moaning about "weapons of mass destruction", and the "ability of the Muslims to produce biological weapons of terrorism."
The American Congress, under American Jewish influence, would be delighted with the invasion of Palestine. Israel would be beside itself with joy to see America prick that boil. The Republican Party needs another "heroic" venture to capture the support and admiration of the American public. After all, support always recedes after the execution of almost any military action and Afghanistan is becoming old news. The peak of popularity that President Bush captured after the declaration of the "war on Terrorism," can only go down.
Americans are a conceited people with a strong Christian missionary component. They would love to engage our boys in Palestine to save the world from the "evil" and "crazy" terrorists. We will go into Palestine to "root out the terrorist groups that threaten the whole world." Who could be against that?
We will be saving the Palestinian people from a life of misery and forced conscription into "terrorist gangs." Even Europe will have to support such a noble venture. Just think how happy the Christian Fundamentalists will be to know that the "Infidel" is being driven back and Jerusalem is being liberated from the defilers. What glory! Think of internationalizing Jerusalem under American (Christian) control! It all sounds a bit like the renewal of the disastrous Crusades but good public relations can keep the American public from noticing that.
Secretary Rumsfeld asked NATO to halve our armed forces contingent in Bosnia so they would be available to deploy elsewhere. What target did he have in mind? Palestine? With the end of the more spectacular action in Afghanistan, it is time to move American forces elsewhere. There will be justification to violate other countries sovereignties with impunity because we are pursuing the enemies of the whole world!
You may be sure that multinational plans have been drawn up to organize a government for the Palestinians. You can be sure that both Israel and America will have a tight control over such a government and we will seek out Arab minorities and traitors to staff the operation. Once we have driven out the "terrorist bands" a new military government and the United States will have established new bases for deploying our armed forces in the Middle East. Everyone will be delighted except the Palestinians and a billion Arab/Muslims around the world.
We are very good at promoting traitors of their own people to positions of importance. We use them first as a cover for pursuing our military (political) objectives and then latter, make them the governing officials. Our best successes were the Contras in central America and the Kurds in Northern Iraq. We empowered Shi'a in Southern Iraq, UNITA in Angola, the Christians in the south of Sudan, the Maronite Christians in Lebanon, the Baha'is and Christians in Iran. The list is endless! It would be twice as long if we add the Latin American regimes we control.
Israel took a page from the American book and subsidized disloyal Arabs (mostly Christian) to create the "Southern Lebanese Army' to occupy and rule in the south of Lebanon where the water resources are precious. America will find it easy to put together a corps of Arabs to pursue the occupation of the newly formed Palestine state.
We will help the people rid their own country of their oppressors! God Bless America! We will have taken one more step toward world hegemony. Or perhaps, into a quagmire? In any case, it will happen and very soon. There is no time to waste in the "war against terrorism." As soon as the state of Palestine is established, the enemy will be ready to pounce on it. It probably will all unfold early in the first decade of this century. The ultimate provocation may be the blowing up of the second holiest relic in Islam, the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. There are rumors that this will occur, so it will come as no surprise to this writer when it happens.
